We always welcome volunteers for our committees. Please email us at atlanticprovincesaba@gmail.com for more information on any committee of interest to you.

Elections Committee
The purpose of the Elections Committee is to nominate and administer elections for all necessary replacements for the following year's Executive Council. The Elections Committee consists of a chair, usually the past president, as well as the president-elect and 1-2 additional members appointed with the advice and consent of the board.

On an annual basis, this committee organizes all steps to allow members to nominate and vote for Executive office positions whose terms are ending. In order to encourage all members to participate in the election, secure online voting is enabled with results reported to the Executive.

Awards Committee
APABA Chapter awards and bursaries recognize and support the contributions of APABA members to the field of behaviour analysis and promote continued work in behavioural research and practice. The Awards Committee works collaboratively to develop selection criteria, seek and review nominations and disseminate information about the availability of the awards.

Education and Program Committee
Throughout the year, this committee explores opportunities for professional development for members, including organizing speakers for the annual meeting as well as other events, such as the Online Study Group. In addition, the committee maintains our certification as an approved provider for BACB Continuing Education credits. The committee investigates best available technology for effective webinars and/or video conferencing and brings recommendations to the executive.

Public Education and Communications Committee

The goal of this committee is to promote APABA through various communication outlets and to educate the public on principles of applied behaviour analysis. The Committee edits, publishes, and distributes items to the public as designated by the board and is responsible for the development and maintenance of all of APABA's online services. Social media initiatives such as the APABA Facebook page, the Chapter website [www.atlanticprovincesaba.com] and most recently, the “BehaviorBits” blog [website: behaviourbits.com or Twitter: @BehaviourBits] were created to allow us to take full advantage of the internet to assist our efforts.
