The Awards Committee has created information packets for the APABA awards that have been established. It is hoped that the awards will recognize initiatives of members, help spread understanding of ABA among the public and encourage students to enter our field. A brief description of the awards follows and more complete information will soon be available.

The Verna O’Coin Memorial Bursary
Verna O’Coin was a much loved and respected member of the education community in New Brunswick. She will be fondly remembered for her many years of dedicated work in special needs education, and particularly for her work with those living with Autism. In her memory, a Professional Development Bursary has been established. The bursary (up to $250) will be granted to applicants who live in Atlantic Canada and who are seeking funding in order to pursue continuing education in the field of behaviour analysis. Members will be able to contribute to, or apply through the APABA website for this supplemental funding when they are attending professional development activities.
